My question involves paternity law for the State of: Illinois/international.
This is a long and complicated situation so I will try to provide as much detail as possible.
At the time of my son's conception, I was in the army and had been stationed in Germany. My Wife (now) was still married at the time and going through a bad divorce for several years. Near the end of her pregnancy I was re-stationed stateside and she was unable to come with due to being close to birth. Our son was born in a German Hospital and her former husband was listed as the father on the birth certificate because she was still married to him. My son still has the other guys name on his international birth certificate and has his last name. We have had little to no luck being able to get it changed. Is there any way to get it fixed?
