Default Summons in Just a Few Days

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Missouri

I received a summons for early next week for credit card debt. I tried to call the lawyer listed on the summons but the ext listed said invalid and the operator wouldn't answer any of the times I called. The email address also came back as invalid. I had a name and number from a previous letter and a different person that was just a debt collector called back and was rude. I tried to ask for payments or a lesser sum than they were asking before the court date and was told lump sum only and whole amount. Would I stand a chance of a better deal going to court or calling back and insisting on speaking to a lawyer?

Default Re: Summons in Just a Few Days

I would file a motion to dismiss based on those facts.
