Angry Rights of Police to Intervene in Accidents on Private Property

My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: OHIO

Alright, the situation is this....I was in a parking lot, walking into a store. A driver didn't even look up when she put her car into drive. I got hit. DID NOT have any injuries. This cop came up and got out of their car. I told them, "I'm fine, no harm no foul." They tried to make me go to the hospital, and only ceased when I repeatedly refused and threatened to call my lawyer if they didn't allow me to leave. I basically said, "either put me under arrest for something, or let me leave." Then I left.

Here's my question. 1. This happened on private property. Did they have any right to intrude on the situation in the first place (they were not invited)?
    2. After being told I'm fine, did they have the right to try and persist (even trying to issue a ticket to the driver, to which I absolutely was against and fought against)?
    3. Can they force you to go to the hospital when you're absolutely fine????

This cop pissed me off. I wanted to punch him in his dumba** face. i don't see that he had any right to even intrude.

    1. Store parking lot, by any chance?

    2. Absolutely. If you had been injured and they had NOT attempted to persuade you to get medical attention, you'd probably be here asking if the cop and local PD can be held liable for your injuries.

    3. If a physician has declared on the scene that you do not need medical attention, I cannot see any LEO trying to force you to go to the hospital. However since you were NOT forced to go anywhere, the issue is moot.

You also cannot decide whether or not they ticketed the other driver.

How is the cop out of line for being concerned about your welfare?

No I would not hold the cop responsible. And I do have a right to protest seeing as I am the victim.

It was none of his business. If I told him I was fine that should have been that. And I was nice until he started being a d*ck putting his nose where it didn't belong.

in most states if the parking lot is designed to be used by the public then it has the same laws as state roads.

You can get a dui, ticket for no seatbelt or speeding tickets in shopping parking lots!!

    No law was broken.

    BUT no...I was kept there

well I will be complaining to the department and private property as it deals with ACCIDENTs usually the cops will not get involved unless there is an INJURY in this case no injury resulted...and yes I'm pissed

I would have to look. In some states, police do have authority to act on a private lot open to the public. The fact he witnessed an accident that included injury, or at least possible injury, I suspect he did have some right to "put his nose in it"

if you have a problem with the officer, make a complaint at his station.

    Are you a physician?

    I didn't think so.

Neither was the cop. Hence the recommendation that you seek medical attention. You know, just to make sure.
