My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Washington
Does the officer need to state the direction he was traveling in the affidavit?
Does the officer need to say how fast he was traveling or is it sufficient to just say the speed indicated in Radar patrol speed window was verified and consistent with patrol vehicles certified speedometer?
The officer indicates that his speedometer was certified, but I did not receive any certification documentation of the speedometer with my discovery (and there is no identifying information of the patrol car in the officer's affidavit in order to research this)- can I move to suppress radar certification based on this?
Is it sufficient if the officer states that his visual observation of the vehicle was consistent with that of the radar reading or does he need to indicate in mph what his visual estimate was and his range of error?
This forum is great- thanks in advance of your help. Blewis if you see this, you seem quite knowledgeable in this area.
