Default Did Not Get a Shoplifting Ticket in the Mail

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

My friend and I were caught shoplifting at the Glendale, California Sears. I am 17 and he is 15. He stole 2 video games which were in total worth about $59. I stole 1 game which was worth $29. When we walked out of the store 2 big buys told us to come back in. They took us to the back room, took back the games and asked us to empty our pockets. My friend's my mom was there and mine was not. The workers took both of our id's and started typing on the computer (guessing he wrote down the information). They said that they would not get the police involved but we would both receive a ticket from sears but if we did not pay that fine then they would get the police involved. 2 weeks later my friend got his ticket and it was 375 dollars. Now its been about 4 weeks almost 5 since the indecent and i still have not gotten my ticket. What should i do? I'm afraid it got lost in the mail and they will put a warrant on me if i do not pay. Someone please advise me on what to do and how much will the fine most likely be. I know this was very dumb of me i was not thinking.

When you say "ticket", you mean you haven't received a civil demand?

Yes it was a civil demand. It was from a law firm which sears hired. It said that ether my friend pays the whole sum at once or divide it into a seven month payment plan.

I would call. It's better than not knowing and getting pulled over for a minor traffic violation and a warrant popping up. that would really ruin your day.

Ya, thanks I called and apparently it was lost so they resent it.
