Default Police Accident Reports in New Jersey

Are police accident reports consider public records in NJ?

I was not involved in an accident but the vehicle that I own was prior to my purchase.

I want to obtain information from the accident report to determine when the accident happened.

    Thank you.

It looks like you can get a report, as long as the investigation is closed. Contact the police department that holds the report and ask about their FOIA process.
