Question What is Considered a Substantial Change in Income

In California... Last time CS was adjusted by Court order was in 2008. At that time it was written into the order that CS will remain as calculated unless there was a substantial change in either parent's income.

My situation remains unchanged. X, however had an income increase from $106,020 to $131,099 - an increase of $2090 a month.

The state's online CS calculator shows a change of more than $100 per month.

Is this substantial enough for me to ask for a recalculation of CS?

Generally yes, that's enough to warrant another look at the current order.

Question Re: What is Considered a Substantial Change in Income

Where did you find this info?
    I looked thru
    http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/ca...body=&hits=All
    without any luck.

Also - child will be 17 in May and graduating high school the month after.
She wants to join the military. Will a judge not change the CS order if it will be only valid for a few months?

I wouldn't waste your time trying to change an order that would only last a few months. By the time you actually see a judge, it will probably be too late.
