    Exclamation Emancipation

    My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Michigan
    Is it possible to be emancipated at 14 in the state of Michigan?

    There is no state that will emancipate a 14 year old.

    In Michigan, you must be 16 years old to even initiate the petition.

    There's more to it than that, though.

    California will emancipate a 14 year old in very, very, very limited circumstances, but you'd better be either a nationally recognized sports figure or spend your spare time acting in the Harry Potter movies before they will consider it.

    In no other state can a 14 year old even THINK about emancipation.
