My question involves criminal law for the state of: KY
I made a mistake and am severely ashamed. I just kind of lost it emotionally and stole some candy and a few childs items- totaling 60.00. I had a magazine from the lunch room- mags are always back there used and older- and it had been floating around back there a few weeks, a lot of us bring in mags and leave them for others. Well they said it was theirs and added it to the total.
I accept that a week later they said they will file a warrant, as they didnt call the police at first for that.
I am worried as the lp guy was threatening me saying they will go back through each tape every day I worked and if anything looks suspicious they will file felonies on anything and everything. I work in a fast paced dept and never stole money from the "till/register" as he was saying and understand why he would say this, but what if something just LOOKS suspcious? I worked through xmas there and we do returns and a lot of merch lying around. I know we had cameras but not in my head I am like we had keys and put them in our pocket like 50-70 times a shift and are constantly handling things.
I am worried as I had to sue them for back pay after they put me off for 4 months due to an injury there..I won but they ONLY agreed to pay me in payments- over 8 years- roughly 10.00, yes ten, a week. I had to file again for this injury and it was a week before all this. I am scared they will retailiate as I sued them.
If no merchandise is there, is it just them saying I did something? I am scared as to something like "2 months ago this looked suspcious" so we are charging you. Or these items are short in inventory so it must be you kind of thing.
Any advice? what has to be on a camera? they had mentioned empty boxes of the product I did take, but that was the first time and I know that, but can they blame me for things i really didnt do???![]()
