To whom it may concern, I had participated in the Alberta Alternative Measures program(diversion program) 2 years ago and completed it successfully. Was my first and only offense, Theft under $5, 000(Section 334(6) Canadian Criminal Code).. I am leaving for Vegas on April 11.. and was wondering about customs. I had traveled to the US boarder, by car and had wasn't expecting to be in the CPIC database, it caught me off guard, was asked a few questions pertaining to my arrest; records/fingerprints, that I was unsure of how to answer. I got through the boarder, but it was just so nerve wrecking.. Anyways, now I am concerned about customs at the Vancouver Airport traveling to the US.. Am I going to be able to get through Customs alright, and if screened, not exactly sure what they can see on my record, other than my prints/arrest? Should I bring my Alternative Measures agreement copy that I have had from the court? I don't want to wreck my chances of not getting to go. does a charge count as inadmissibility if no conviction was made, should I declare my record at the airport if there is no convictions?
Any information in regards to the subject will be muchly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Zachary
