Default Traffic Ticket with Wrong Violation Code

I received traffic ticket in small Middlesex county town central NJ (surrounded by Edison). Violation Code written on the ticket is different from the one police officer gave to the traffic court. I have violation code 39:3-86 written in my ticket (that means no point) and court has 39:4-86 (4 points). I tried to discuss this mismatch with township's traffic violation department person but she told that there is nothing she can do. Only thing, I can do (she indicated) is that to appear in the court and talk about this there.

Does anyone has experience in this area? What are my choices? What is my chance of ticket getting corrected (or dropped)?
I can really use your help/experience.
    Thank you very much..

    Additional details(Reason for the ticket)
I was not crossing "No crossing line". Single lane on Rt 27 splits on to two lane before the traffic light. I had to make left turn. So, I turned car in the left lane. Officer was sitting in right lane 4 to 5 cars "ahead" of me (He told that he was watching me in the driver side rear-view mirror). As I made left turn, he pulled up right behind me.

It sounds to me like the clerical error was in the officer's original notation, and that the error was caught and corrected by the prosecutor and related to you on the notice from the court.
Quote Quoting 39:4-86. Overtaking and passing vehicles; crossing "No Passing" lines
The driver of a vehicle shall not drive to the left side of the center line of a highway in overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction unless the left side is clearly visible and free of oncoming traffic for a sufficient distance ahead to permit the overtaking and passing to be made in safety.

The driver of a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the center of a highway in order to overtake and pass another vehicle proceeding in the same direction upon the crest of a grade or upon a curve in the highway where the driver's view along the highway is obstructed within a distance of five hundred feet.

Except when otherwise directed by a duly constituted traffic or police officer or when the lane in which he is operating is obstructed and impassable, the driver of a vehicle shall not cross an appropriately marked "No Passing" line in a "No Passing" zone duly established pursuant to a duly promulgated regulation of the State Highway Commissioner or an ordinance or resolution duly adopted by a municipal governing body or a board of chosen freeholders, whichever has jurisdiction over the highway.
I can't tell from your description what the supposed traffic offense was.
