    Default Solicitation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas, I was in a chatroom and talking to some one and they told me online that there is going to be a warrant issued for my arrest for solicitation of a minor, this was the first time I have talked to this person, so would I have been told like that right away I would have a warrant or does there normall need to be a investigation first

WHAT did you say to this person??

Rule Number One of chat rooms: Sex talk with strangers can land you in prison. Don't do that.

Aside from that, though, if you were going to be arrested, the officers posing as minors would not inform you of such in the chat room. They would gather up their evidence, get a court order to get your information from your ISP, then simply show up and arrest you.

i was asked for my age to enter the chat room, things got sexual after the influence of the person i was chatting with, then they said "my name is amy boston, i will be your arresting officer for solicitation of a minor, then gave me a case number or something and told me that i will have a warrant for my arrest" this was the first time i ever talked to this person; so would they really tell me i have a warrant online or would they have to do an investigation?

You said you gave your age only to enter the Chatroom. But It's highly unlikely that they could identify you, unless they were to track down your location.

However, your situation is based on what kind of information you had to provide upon creating your account. Most people must provide Name, Address, Phone Number, email adress, etc. Then, if so, they will most probably try to track you down with this information, and possibly flag you with a warrant.

Ether A- you did something to provoke this person to report you to the police.

Or B- in time you will be contacted via the Internet to hand over a sum of money to make the warrant go away. This is a scam.
