Hi all - I've tried finding the answers to these specific questions without any luck. I came to the U.S. on an F-1 student visa, graduated, found a job and received an H-1b visa (which I am currently on), and am now married to a U.S. citizen and applying for Adjustment Of Status - I have not left the U.S. since arriving on my F-1.
This means I have an I-94 from my last entry as an F-1 (now expired), and a NEW I-94 when I received my H-1B (but I did not enter the country). The questions in both forms ask about my last entry - so should I use my older, expired I-94 data? Specifically:
Form I-130:
(1) Q14 asks how relative arrived (I arrived on an F-1 visa). The next part asks for my I-94 number, date arrived, and date authorized stay expired.
As an H-1B holder, I now have a new I-94 card, with a new number and expiration date. However, my last actual ENTRY was on a student visa, and that I-94 is obviously expired. Which I-94 info should I be placing in here?
Form I-485
(1) Part 1 again asks for "date of last arrival" (for me, my last arrival was on F-1 years ago), "I-94 #" (again, here which I-94 # do i use? the one from my last arrival, which is expired, or my new one that I received with my H-1B?)
(2) in the same section, it asks "current status" (H-1B), and "expires on" (the way the form looks, i can't be sure if "expires on" relates to "current status" or to "I-94#")
Thank you in advance for any of your comments
****edit****
I just found out that the I-94# does not change, so it is the same number on my original entry and the new card I received with my H-1B.
So am I correct that both the I-94# and the Alien Registration # do not ever change - even if you switch between multiple different statuses?
