Default Voluntarily Giving Up Parental Rights

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: louisiana
I live in Wyoming and my soon to be ex-wife lives in louisiana with my two kids. I do not get to see my kids and can not afford to go see them and think it would be in the best intrest of all parties if I give up my rights. I am behind on child support and can not afford to pay it. I am doing a DIY divorce in Wyoming. Any help would be appreciated. What actions should i take to go ahead with these proceedings?

What makes you think you can simply terminate your rights?

    (hint: you can't)

Mom will usually need to be remarried and her husband be willing to adopt the children. Also, this does not necessarily forgive child support arrears.

Unwed Louisiana fathers have the right to terminate their parental rights with the consent of the mother. However, termination of parental rights does not excuse child support obligations unless the mother is married to another man, or unless the child is adopted by a second parent.

In other words, the RIGHTS are EASY to give up; no one can force you to spend time with your children. But the RESPONSIBILTIES associated with fathering children, such as supporting them financially, will be yours until and unless someone ELSE is willing to step in and legally REPLACE you as a second parent.

    He's also married to Mom.
