Default Will a Prior Acquittal Affect a New Criminal Charge

I was a victim of identity theft last year. I was at a sportsbar and my purse was stolen. the person used my bank card at stores, and they also used my id to go to a dealership and test drive a car then, ride off with it. the dealer must have not went through good procedures because they would've known it wasnt me. Neways they got away with it that time, but afterwards they tried to do it again, but my id had been flagged and they were rejected and ran away, from the dealer who noticed it. of course I was to blame since it was my id that they gave the dealership, even though it was stolen and i had obtained a new one. The charge was felony larceny. I recently just finished this court case in which i was found not guilty and my case was dismissed. However after i went through all this for something i didnt do, i recently shoplifted some makeup, and got caught. stupid i know. totaled around $40. this was my first time shoplifting, but will the other case affect this one, and if so how serious. Im sure the fact that they both involve the taking of property doesn't help. I just wish this whole identity theft thing would go away. I wish it all would go away, because that was my first and last time stealing anything

    .

    No, it will not.
I just wish this whole identity theft thing would go away.
The identity theft is completely separate from your personal act of thievery. It didn't cause you to steal, and will have no impact on your shoplifting case.

Wishing accomplishes nothing. Get yourself in to an attorney. If you cannot afford private counsel, plead Not Guilty at your arraignment and ask for a Public Defender.
