    Question Aggravated Assault Sentences

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania

If someone was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault and was given time served for the first case and 9 to 18 months jail time with 10 years probation for the second case. They were arrested in August and sentenced in January. When does the 9 to 18 months of jail time start and when is the soonest that they could get out of jail?

    Default Re: Aggrivated Assault Sentences

Judges can make exceptions, but generally speaking sentences that involve incarceration usually start the moment the defendant is taken from the courtroom. If he was sentenced to 9 to 18 months, then the soonest out time is 9 to 18 months, which can be dependent on how well they behave, what programs they might participate in, etc.
