My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arkansas
I'm 23 and the girl is 17. We met when she was age 16 and shortly after began a sexual relationship. she used to keep a journal and her mother found it. in it she read that we had had sex. after a short talk the girl told her mother she wanted to move out when she turned 18. her mother said if she did, she would then prosecute for statutory rape. isn't the age of consent in arkansas 16? there is no proof of the girl and i being together other than the time that we were allowed by the mother to be. can i be prosecuted? also, sorry to post two in one, the mother is taking the girl to a doctor. during the course of our sexual activity, an std was transmitted, we both have hsv-2. if this is learned by whatever doctor she sees, can she keep that information from her mother, and if not, does that mean anything can happen to me? overall, is there anything i should be worried about?
