Default Taxes Not Filed, Not Paid

I applied for US Citizenship a month ago. At that time I new that I filed all my taxes and had no debt to IRS. In the meantime, I find out that I did not file taxes on time and owe to IRS. So now I am doing taxes from the start for the last 5 years of living with Green Card.

At the interview I am planing to say the truth, that I did not file in time and owe the IRS and that I have a repayment plan being negotiated with IRS.

Will I be denied the citizenship?

I have a terrible feeling that I will be denied a citizenship. I am going through the worst nightmare of my life. In the meantime, I lost my job, I lost everything and the only light at the end of the tunnel is to get a citizenship in order to get a government job.

Please help me with your comments.

    Thanks.

Is this being treated as a tax fraud case?

No, its not being treated like a tax fraud case. I am working on filing all and everything, however I am not going to be able to pay all the taxes at once, I will have to negotiate a payment system.

Is this going to be a reason for my application for naturalization to be denied?

As I said I will be sincere.

I find this comment amusing based on your history. Many native born citizens with no tax problems would love a government job - or any job - right now.
