Default Statute of Limitations for Sex Crimes in Florida

Anyone aware? How many years (statue of Limitations) after an adult having sex with a minor between the ages of 12-16?

How old was this minor exactly? How old was the adult?

    When did this take place?

Thanks for your reply,....Well currently the adult is 42, the minor now, is an adult, all the information given was what has been stated, I'll add the individual is charged with 120 counts of sex with a minor between the age of 12-16, this apparently happen sometime ago, so I was wondering how far back they could go?

Unsure, that's all the info that has been released, and that was released with a disclaimer that the info of a sex-assault victim is not made public, would the current age of the victim be that important? according to the report, she was between 12-16 when she was alledgely assaulted, and for the 120 counts, the report said the state charged him with 120 counts because apparently the activety went on for some time

Think so? ; I'd agree, in fact I read today the judge refused to lower his bond of $875k, and postponed a hearing a few days because he was still trying to obtain counsel

Florida has no statute of limitations for capital felony, life felony, or first degree felony sexual assault against a minor. Prosecutions for these crimes can occur at ANY time with no limitation. And, the statute of limitations for lesser degrees of sex crimes against minors in Florida doesn't start to run until the vicitm turns 18.

You can find all the possibilities at:

I'm almost tempted to look up the case. Just to see what exactly is going on here.

The story peeked my interest, and that's why I took the time to investigate, thumbnail: The suspect is a Lt. in the SR CO Sheriff's Dept, I can post a link if that's kosher....
