    Default Evicted for Disruptive Behavior

    Michigan

I received a "Notice to Quit" form in the mail which said we have to the end of April to get out. I assume this is due to my husband and i having a couple of arguments and we received a noise complaint a couple months ago for the radio. We are not partier's we have a son who has never woke up or been affected in any way. Our neighbor is just complaining for I truly feel no reason we don't argue daily, weekly, barely i would say every couple months. But its normal people disagree. We aren't violent or physical we just have exchanged a few inappropriate words I'm sure. All of our other neighbors love us and have never complained. So basically we're being evicted for disruptive behavaior. When we first moved in our neighbors partied every night outside mainly, insdie fought constantly with each other with other neighbors it even got physical, smoked pot and we had to deal with this for 6 months, before anything was ever done. I understand our lease has quite enjoyment which i guess you could say we violated, But it was also violtaed on us for 6 months. Is there anything I can do about that? And What happens if we don't pay Aprils rent? Will they be able to evict us any faster? We've never been late on a rent payment.

Thank's in advance any advice will be helpful.

Having problems with neighbors in the past doesn't immunize you from being evicted over problems you cause within the community.

How many warnings did you get before the eviction notice was served?

If you don't pay your rent, they may serve a seven day notice or they may amend their complaint to try to get a money judgment. The only person who can tell you what your landlord will actually do is your landlord.

You definitely want to pay your rent for April. If you don't, they can serve you a judgment for eviction and that will remain on your credit report for good. It would make it really difficult to rent another place with that on your report.

And unfortunately, Knowitall is correct. You can't retroact previous problems created by other tenants.
