My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Michigan
I just moved into an upper floor apartment the same time as my downstairs neighbor. We have only been here a month and they have already complained about noise many times and called the cops last night. I was folding laundry when they called! The cops said they listened outside the door for ten minutes and heard nothing.
My neighbors expect total silence 24/7 as they work different shifts and someone is always sleeping. They complain about walking, vacuuming, etc. at any hour of the day. I tried talking to them and got nowhere. I feel as if I there is nothing I can do that will make them happy, and they are just getting worse as time goes by. What rights do I have? What if they keep calling the cops?
