Default Disabled Parent and Retro Dependent Benefits

I have recently been approved for disability benefits with retro benefits payable back to 2006. I have a child who since has turned 18 and is also eligible to receive dependent benefits prior to turning 18 and graduating from high school. Since I provided support then and still do, who is entitled to receive this benefit? Me or my 18 year old child?

18 year olds are paid directly.

You could ask for payment for room and board.
