Default Alleged Accessory to Friend Shoplifting at a Supermarket

Hi guys recently my friend was caught shoplifting a at Shaws Supermarket in Boston MA, I unfortunately watched him do so and now they have tried to get me in as an accessory. They tried to get me to sign a piece of paper saying that I had the intent to steal from the store for personal gain etc, but i refused to sign it as I did not steal. They said that they would send me a letter from corporate with some sort of a settlement most likely, but what do you think will happen? and If I pay the settlement cant they still pursue legal action if they wish to do so, although I don't see why they would. Please help!

Were you charged, or not? Was your friend?

If they did not indicate that they were going to try to have you charged, did not notify the police, and told you only that they would probably send you a civil demand, it's likely that all they intend to do is send the civil demand.
