Default Afraid of Retaliation for Testifying at a Senate Hearing

My question involves civil rights in the State of: Minnesota
The organization I volunteer for asked several members to testify at a senate hearing, the day after one of our people had a city official go to his employer and ask to fire this person because of their testimony to the State Senate, the next day law enforcement advised this person to carry protection.
There are further actions pending on this bill and now we are fearful of loss of our jobs and harm to ourselves or our family's if we testify.
    What should we do.
    Thank You WJ

You can always choose to not testify.

In any case, if you're harassed, you call law enforcement and file a complaint.
