    Default Theft B Charge

    My question involves criminal law for the state of: I'm in texas and i have received a cite and release order with the court date on 3oth march...I have been charged with Theft B plzz explain me what do it mean..Second of all is when i aapear in court will i get put in jail or prison time as i'm scared This is my first and lats crime i'll ever do...The amount for merchandise in stole was $120 and that is the retail price plzzz help what should i do next and what do i do in court on that day if i say i did it will they just fine me or they will put me in jail..

    It appears that you're charged with a Class B misdemeanor under Section 31.03 of the Texas Penal Code.

    Consult a criminal defense lawyer about (a) the possibility of having the charge reduced to a Class C misdemeanor and (b) the possibility of getting a deferral, preferably both.
