My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Michigan
I had at&t cable and it comes with a 30 day guarantee. If you cancel your service before the end of the 30 days its free. So I hated the service or lack of it and canceled it before the 30 day period was up. At which time they verified that the service was going to be free. The next month I got a bill and called, they said yes it is free but it takes a month for the billing cycle to clear out the balance. The following month they charged my credit card which over drafted for the amount of the service. I called again they again said it was supposed to be free but they can't put the money back in my account because its been over 3 days, and they can't do anything for my overdraft charge. I should try calling the credit card company to ask to have it removed. At&T said they were reimbursing me by check and it would arrive the next week. This was 6 months ago. I never received a check.
Is their anything I can do? I feel they illegally charged me in the first place and won't pay me back my money. They should give me back the money and have to pay some kind of penalty like they charge us if were late on a payment.
Thanks for reading thin I Know it's long. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
