Default Citation Date on Courtesy Notice Different Than Ticket

My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: California

I received a speeding ticket in Solano County. I was ticketd on 01/12/2010.

I received my courtesy notice in the mail and the citation date listed is 01/02/2010.

Is there any legal way to dispute this ticket considering this was the wrong date? Should I just go to traffic school?

If I go to court to dispute the ticket because of the date and lose, do I still have the option to go to traffic school?

    Thanks!

Default Re: Citation Date on Courtesy Notice Different Than Ticket

Having the wrong citation date on the "courtesy" notice does not invalidate the citation. You can dispute it if you'd like but the most you'll likely get out of it (on those grounds) is that the court records will be corrected.
