    Default Working Over 8 Hours with No Lunch

    my previous employer had me work several times over 8hours with no breaks and i caught him a couple times scheduling my time card for a lunch break with no time given for a break

    and when i quit he took hours off my time card and didn't pay me for it.

    what can i do

    well, if we had some idea what state this was in, we might be able to tell you but since you decided to ignore the oh so important question you were presented with when first posting, a best guess is contact your states department of labor.

    From all I can find, Arizona does not require meal breaks or rest breaks at all. As such, there is no claim based on not allowing you to take breaks or lunches.

    Arizona also defaults to federal law for overtime so overtime would apply to hours worked over 40 in one week. From your post, I cannot tell if that was a question you had or not.

    Regardless of all that, you must be paid for all hours worked and from your post, I understand that you were not being paid all hours worked.
