Default K-1: Tourist Visa, Affidavit of Support

    Folks,
I will appreciate any feedback from you in the matter described below.
What would you recommend in following circumstances:
    - I'm US Citizen (Naturalized) living and working temporarily in Poland (since 2006)
    - got engaged with polish citizen
    - I want to move back to USA with my Fiancee as soon as possible (we want to marry and move to USA permanently)
    - my Fiancee was granted a Tourist Visa for 10 years (we are taking a trip to US in march to see my family there)

    Now the questions.
    1. Is the K-1 (Fiancee Visa) aplicable in this situtaion?
    2. Won't my Fiancee's Tourist Visa make the K-1 process lengthening?
    3. What about "Affidavit of Support" if I've been overseas for sometime (I got my Mom, brother and sister with her family in US), I wonder how could I prove that my fiancee won't become public charges, as they call it.

    Sincerly,
    Tm

    1. If you want to marry within 90 days of your fiancee's entry into the United States, and remain there afterward, it's an option. You also have the option of marrying in Poland and then seeking a spouse visa.

    2. Why would it? If your fiancee gets a K1 visa, she will enter on that visa and not as a tourist.

    3. If you can't prove that you have the means to support your fiancee, you will need a cosponsor (or cosponsors) who can satisfy that requirement.

I want to thank you in the beginning.

    1. The spouse visa, from what I read here and there, is the longer process especially on behave of the beneficiary's country. I read that Fiancee Visa takes about 6-9 months to complete, is that reasonable?

    2. I was wondering whether tourist visa wouldn't conflict while the K-1 visa is processed?! Then, I realized that traveling to US with my fiancee on tourist visa (while K-1 is processed) and back should be in some sort of prove that are intensions are truthful.

    3. Can my Mother be cosponsor or my sister? I'm thinking about moving back and get employed like 2 months prior to the completion of that whole process. Why cannot we right a statement that our intensions are not to be public chargers? But, I'm not afraid to support my future spouse and I've been working since my early years as teenager. How much money do I need in bank account? My Mother owns a house and is this somewhat sufficient?

    Thank you
