    Default Possible Police Arrest Avoidance

What happens during a domestic dispute, if police is called, and the police asked that you should step out of your property. Should you? If you ignore them and stay inside, can the police arrest you?

Default Re: Possible Police Arrest Avoidance

It is often easy for police to establish probable cause to enter the residence if they are there for a complaint involving a dispute or violence - domestic or otherwise. They need to be able to determine that there isn't someone injured, dying, or dead, before leaving the scene. Obstructing that process, which they'll carry out if they have cause to do so, could result in them doing what they're going to do while you sit in the back of the police cruiser. In other words, they are not about to leave the scene of a domestic dispute just because you refuse to answer the door.
