My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: Washington.
While driving North on I-5 in the two lane section just before Olympia. Speed limit is 70 mph. I was on cruse control at 70 with traffic passing me on the right as I approached a car in front of me doing approximately 65 mph. I could not get over to pass easily. I was down to 65 mph behind the slow driver waiting to go around him. When space allowed I moved over to the right and passed the slow car. Moved back over to the left lane to resume 70 mph.
I was pulled over for "negligent driving". Bail is $550.00. The officer said this is aggressive driving. RCW 46.61.525. No speeding on the ticket.
I live in another state so going to court for contesting will be a real problem.
Question is; Do I have a chance getting this dismissed ?
Can I get a deferral for my state ?
Thanks for any advice;
dws
