    Default Destruction of Property Charges

I have never been convicted of a crime ever.

I am 25 year old male. Last night I was intoxicated and broke a glass door of an apartment building lobby. Because of the state I was in, I proceeded to the bar next door with two of my friends and was picked up by the police and booked.

I spent about 3-4 hours in jail after they took prints, etc.

no bond or anything. They just let me go with a court date set about two months from now.

My question is.....how worried should I be. Do I run the risk of going to jail?

I was hoping I just show up and then be ordered to pay for the door and that would be it. Do you think I need a lawyer or could I just goto court and get it over with in a quick case?

I have no idea what to do/ what to expect. Please help me because I am starting to get worried.

I would definitely consult a lawyer. Odds are you're looking at fines, restitution, probation, and possibly community service. Given the alcohol issues, if an alcohol problem is suspected the judge may order conditions such as alcohol abstinence or AA during your probation.) But if your record is otherwise clear, a lawyer may be able to help you avoid a criminal record.
