So my mother kicked me out on my 18th birthday, I am now 20.She has been claiming me on her taxes. Is that even possible? My father who I actually lived with for a year claimed me as well.
She is claiming that I am dependent on her because she is paying for my medical bills from a suicide attempt at 15 and a kidney infection(which I got because she refused to take me to a doctor for a simple UTI).Is this possible at all?The bills are all in her name because I was a minor at the time. Are they now my bills?Does this in any way count as me being dependent on her? From what I had heard, collections went after her and I was never approached by anyone to pay those medical bills. She did try to guilt me into paying it but in the end she couldn't force me.
I haven't talked to this woman in years. Why is she claiming me on her taxes?Isn't that ridiculously illegal?
She also continued to receive child support checks for a year after she kicked me out.Is that legal?
I am getting all this information from a close cousin who is still in contact with her.
