Since you are a minor your parents are still liable. They didn't need to be there. The time frame for receiving the Civil Demand depends on the retailer. Terms of payment will be spelled out in the letter. Being a first time juvenile offender makes no difference in the amount.

First offense doesn't make a difference on the cost of the civil demand.

It's hard to say how long it will take to be mailed out - depends on how many other shoplifters they have to mail demands out to.

Time frame to pay depends on the store. A couple weeks or a month.

The bill would be addressed to your parents, as you are a minor.

Oh I know they're sending a civil demand, but my parents didn't sign on it, they weren't at the store when the paperwork was filled. Is it possible it won't be much at all?
It's most likely to be around $500. Might be a little more, there's really no way for anyone here to tell you how much it will be for certain.

Does anyone know how long it normally takes for me to receive my civil demand notice, and once it's received, how long I have to pay it?
Depends on how backed up their Loss Recovery department is. Could be a few days, could be a month or more.

I wonder if the fact that it's a first offense as a juvenile makes a difference on the Civil Demand cost.
Not in the slightest. It's Civil, and separate from your criminal record.
