My question involves a roommate in the State of: Illinois
I was wondering what our rights are if two roommates want to get a new roommate to replace a third at the end of a lease. The landlord doesn't want to get involved due to legal risks and just wants a notice stating whether we're renewing or not, do we as tenants have any say if both of us want the third out and the lease is up? The third roommate is possibly fighting this as they don't want to move. If we find a third to replace them can we just sign a new lease without the previous third roommate or can they fight this?![]()
