My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arizona.
I recently was driving out to the desert with a couple friends to go camping. I had a keg in the bed of my truck and I am 18 and a friend of mine in the truck was 20. I get pulled over for driving "way too fast" (42 MPH) on a dirt road with an "unofficial" (and unmarked) speed limit of 25 MPH. The cop has me and my friend get out of my truck and sit on the tailgate as he proceeds to write us our tickets. We both got MIPs and he let us go and took the keg.
Now my question is, in Arizona, is there any way for me to take classes or do anything for that to not go on my record? I am taking flight classes and have my pilots license and an alcohol charge on my record is looked down on strongly in the aviation world.
I knew it was stupid to be the one with it in my vehicle but nobody else had any room in there trucks.
Should I get an attorney? Public defender?
And will my drivers license be suspended for sure or is that the judges decision?
BTW I have a clean record except for a speeding ticket that I got a year ago.
