Post Medical Debt Statute of Limitations

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: North Carolina/California

I have a medical debt from 7 yrs ago that a company is trying to collect as of last week. I understand by law the SOL is 3 yrs. Is this correct and if I don't pay will they charge it off as bad debt?

Agree, we need to know the state info requested.

Also, just to verify, did you never pay anything on the debt? If you did make any payments, when was the last payment made?

    Thanks.
