Jesus, get a grip on yourself!
To start with, insurance companies rate drivers based on accident history and CONVICTIONS for moving violations, NOT just the number of points on your license. What did your insurance company determine in regard to the fault for the accident? In your case, the insurance company will probably raise the rate for an at-fault accident unless there is some kinda accident forgiveness program your ins co does. The extra point on your record for the accident should not affect your insurance.
Now, regarding traffic school. In your previous thread you've mentioned that you are not eligible for the standard 8-hour traffic school due to another ticket you got 17mo prior. I dunno where cdwjava got his info about pleading guilty and getting the 12hr traffic school, but I've never seen a judge offer the 12hr traffic school. As I wrote above, the 12hr traffic school only cancels the point, NOT the actual conviction, and it does NOTHING to help against insurance increases. It's a waste of time and money for the defendant, and needless paperwork for the courts.
So, you don't really have anything to lose except a day off work and a little bit of your own time to bone up on the law and prepare a decent defense. And if you win, you have a lot to gain.
