My question involves a background check in the State of: Ohio.

Background: In 2007, I was charged with an M4 Paraphernalia Possession (Marijuana) & an MM Drug Possession (Marijuana). The result of all of which lead to the M4 being dropped while pleading guilty to the MM. I was convicted of the MM in 2008 (it was over the week of the New Year).

Time has passed, no further criminal activity, played the part of a good reformed girl, yadda yadda.

Now, I'm applying for a administrative position with a defense contractor which requires a Federal Security Clearance (Secret Level). I'm in the process of expunging/sealing my record, but I'm unsure if it will be completed before the investigation begins. Three Questions:

1. What the heck are they going to be looking for, and are any of these charges enough to deny my clearance? I know honesty is the best policy, so don't lecture me on not lyin'.
2. The M4 charge won't appear in the investigation, right? Will the MM for this level of background check?
3. While I've been out of trouble, I continue to smoke marijuana habitually. When I received the interview, I immediately started detoxing and am confident I will pass a drug test. BUT, because of this red flag on my record (should it appear), will I be subject to random/regular drug testing? Does a position like this all ready warrant a drug test?

I graciously appreciate any advice, soothing words, or cautionary tales.

Best,
