My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas, in Harris County, that's the Houston area.
On November 19th, my husband, and one of the guys he worked with and their boss, for my husband he was his boss of 4 days, were pulled over in their boss's vehicle, boss was driving. The vehicle was searched and my husband was the only one of the 3 who was arrested and charged with POSS CS PG 1 <1G, although he had nothing on his person at any point, and after the fact, the arresting officer got a call from dispatch that BOSS is currently on probation for felony possession with intent to distribute and a whole slew of other mishaps, like the two yahoos in the truck pouring their meth out into a bunch of sunflower seeds and the officer asking my husband who did that, even despite the fact that he was sitting in the back seat, and they were both in the front seat. He kind of singled him out for failure to identify himself, he has no ID, so the officer spent most of his time on him, rather than paying attention to the actual possessors of the drugs, still seated IN the vehicle. No tickets were issued to the boss, as that being the original reason they were ever pulled over in the first place, there seems to have been no reason for searching the vehicle in the first place and when that happened, only 1 person was arrested, and that was not the driver of the vehicle.
He's to the disposition level of the case as of January 28th, that was the first disposition date. It was reset. Today, he had yet another disposition hearing, that's 3 or 4, so far, and it was reset, again, as well. We're down to being reset to the following day, in court, instead of lapsing weeks at time.
This time, however, it wasn't the defense attorney or the court who reset it, it was reset due to Operation by Law. What does operation by law mean when it's taking place, during the outcome or end result or sentencing of a case, that the attorney said could easily be dismissed, when he's already come and seen my husband and told him the DISTRICT Attorney has him written down as TIME SERVED, but that he was still going to try to get the case dismissed? What's occurring? What's happening?

As you can see, he's having another disposition hearing tomorrow, as well. Now, at this point, what does resetting due to operation by law mean for this case?
