Does Pregnancy Automatically Emancipate Me

I can't figure out how to post, so I need to ask this question this way. I cannot for the life of me find Virginia's laws on pregnancy and emancipation. I am 17, pregnant, and have parental permission to become emancipated. I was wondering if I have to go to court to do so, or if being pregnant automatically emancipates me. I am looking at getting my own apartment, as I have several jobs, have graduated high school, and can support myself and this child.

In no state does pregnancy confer legal emancipation. Medical emancipation, yes; meaning that you, with the help of your doctor, can make your own decisions about your health care and that of your baby. It does not anywhere in the US, despite a shockingly wide mistaken belief to the contrary, give you legal emancipation. In fact, it makes it much less likely that a court will find you eligible for emancipation, which is exceptionally rare to begin with.
