    Default Months Without Charges Filed

My question involves court procedures for the state of: Oregon

I am guilty of one misdemeanor and 100% innocent of a felony (spoke to my attorney about the situation as well). I was told to be in court approximately 3+ months ago for charges to be filed, and have been told over and over again to keep calling in to see what the "status" is.

Apparently, if they are going to charge me, I will get something in the mail. If they aren't, then I have to call in every week to find out if it's been dropped. Interesting system.

Anyway, I've called in repeatedly and the clerk has even sent 3 messages (after a couple months went by) to the DA about me wanting to know when I'm even going to be charged. No response, and the clerk says there are hardly any notes in the file and that she doesn't know what is going on.

This seems abnormally long for charges to be filed, and they have all the information about the situation that they need. Why is this taking so long? Can I do something to expedite it?
