    Default Possible MIP Drop

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington

I think that we can all agree that in our early stages of life, particularly High School, we all make dumb and immature choices. I'm 18 and in High School, and I got an MIP for being intoxicated at a big basketball game between my school and our cross-river rival. Before the game, 30 or so students decided to get a little tipsy before they went in at a tailgate in the parking lot. We ended up losing, so everyone was livid in the stands, including myself, and our administration took notice so my sober friend got me out of there before something bad happened.

Our Vice Prinipal followed us out of the game and told a cop to follow us to my buddy's car because "We were going to cause trouble". As we were about to get into his car a light shined on me and the cop came over. He'd asked if I'd been drinking because of how belligerent I was at the game, so not wanting to lie to a cop, I admitted I had taken 8 or so shots before the game. Not cuffing me, he walked me to our school's main office for questioning. He issued an MIP, but I never took a breathalizer and didn't posess any alcohol.

I've done a little research and according to Wikipedia, In Washington State, the Court of Appeals has determined the mere presence of alcohol in one's system is not enough on its own to support a conviction for MIP. So my question, is, how do I qualify for an MIP? MIC seems right for this case, but when I go to court, is it possible I can get this dropped?

    Your feedback is greatly appreciated

Someone reported to the cops that you seemed drunk and you confessed that you were drinking to the cop, those 2 things prove that you were a minor in possession of alcohol. Your best chance is hiring a lawyer or to see if your court has any type of a diversion program to avoid a conviction.
