Question Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Class E Felony

My question involves personal property located in the State of: New york.
I need assistance. I got caught up in a grand larceny charge for opening an unlocked car and stealing a wallet out of it that contained a credit card. I did not use the credit card and i repalced the 8 dollars in it. the lady has gotten everything in the wallet back and the wallet. now i have no idea what is going to happen. i dont even kno if the lady is going to press charges yet and i was told it is probably not a good idea to make contact with her, but i want to send her a letter of sincere appologetic empathy. If there is any lawyers or law students that could help me out that would be great

What do you mean, "I got caught up in a grand larceny charge"? If charges have not been pressed, you're not charged. If you're charged, charges have been pressed.

i have not been charged yet but the cop also has not come to talk to me again and he is trying to make the lady press charges but im not sure if they are going to be put against me yet and i was just wondering whatii should do or say to make my chances better. i have talked to the lady, i returned the wallet and didnt take anything out of it. i am going crazy not knowing what is going to happen and i need to know what to say to the cop or the lady for things to work out better in my favor. I am a college student and i've stopped hangiing with the people that encourage me to **** up. i have started attending church but if i miss any more classes in school i may have to drop out.

I have no way of beginning to guess what you could say to your victim to discourage her from pressing charges. I know nothing about her or her motivations.

As for the officer, you have a right to remain silent. Given that you've told us that you're guilty as sin, it seems like a really good idea to exercise that right.
