    Question Emancipation in New York

    My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: New York
    I am 16, I want out beacuse my mom she has been with so many abusive men and im tired of liveing with her mistakes beacuse she will not stand up for her self let alone her kids my older siblings have all left her beacuse they are old enough to do something about it, but i dont think i can i only have a job in the summer, but i have people to live i dont want to stay here anymore im tired lieing to social services im tired of staying with a man that used to hit us and my mom. He has stopped the violence but i dont feel safe beacuse ive seen him loose his temper before ive watched him him my mom ive heard him trying to brain wash my mom.. her "boufriend" for 5 years makes her pay rent and buy all the food and he wants conrtol of her money beacuse he says she has a gambling problem... and she does not she gots lottery cards 1-2 times a week and only the 1$ ones..... He will take everything from me including the laptop im typing on now that i worked so hard to pay for by myself beacuse he needs control of everything and im gonna lose my sanity here i need out some one give me some tips or something "ASP"

    There are no statutory provisions for emancipation in the state of New York.

    It means that your chances of being emancipated are something less than your chances of winning the lottery and being hit by lightning on the same day.

    It means that there are no laws in New York that allow you to be emancipated.

    Even if there were, you're not a candidate. If you're being abused, you call CPS and DON'T LIE TO THEM.

    I did not want to lie I at the time i had no where to go i thought they would seperate us and my lil sister and brother needed me....if i would have told i was convinced i would ruin all of our lives

    I do not hate my mom i donw want her to loose who she has left in the world but she just will not wake up and fix all that is wrong =(

    Even if emancipation were an option, which it is not, that would not solve anything for your brother and sister, who would still be left behind to continue dealing with it.

    I know my lil brothers father is working on custody of him and my sister shes a year and 2 months younger then I.... Im going to consult my school consuler and see what she suggests
