    Default A Father's Forty-Seven Year Denial

After 47 years my father continues to deny that I am his son. He and my mother were never married, but he is named on my Birth Certificate. My mother never filed for any type of child support, and both went there own seperate ways in 1958. To this date I have never seen him in person nor a picture of him, but thanks to the development of the Internet I located him in 1995. Since then he denies being my father.
After all these years is there a way that I can legally force a DNA test to prove paternity, and if so how would I go about it? Once DNA returns showing that he is my father, what are my legal rights then.
I thought I could just let this go, but it weights heavy in my heart and soul. I have a terminal illness and would like to close this issue before I die.
    Can someone please help me?

    Sincerely,

    lngbchdavid

Legal rights for what? You're an adult, he owes you nothing. It's his lose that he denies his fatherhood. Get over it and move on. You've never known him and likewise, it's possible you may even have the wrong guy. It will do your health no good to dwell on it.

    Default understanding

I don't have a answer to your question. But I understand were your coming from and how much a person need's closure especially when it comes to ones parents. Find a lawyer and ask him that si your best bet. And reardless weathere you are an adult or not and him owing you something. If he does turn out to be your father he owes you an apology at least so follow your heart my friend.
