I don't really have a question more so a statement. I was just hired by a casino and I was DREADING my background check. I was fingerprinted and interviewed etc. etc. The crime I was charged with was negligent homocide back in 2003. Then placed on HYTA and served 3 years probation. Upon completion of my probation my attorney told me that my record was sealed from public view. This is what scared me because I was not sure if the gaming commission was considered public or not. So sitting in the lobby I was game planning on whether or not I should disclose this to the GC official that was interviewing me. I decided to be up front and honest with her and told her of my situation. She was very understanding and really didn't seem too concerned about it. And the next day she called me and told me that nothing showed up and I was "squeaky clean." In the long run all that dread was a waste of my time. I was up front and honest and that was by far the best decision. The reason I am posting this is because I spent hours and hours searching the internet for a similar situation to mine. I was unsuccessful in my efforts. So I hope this helps anybody that will be in my shoes soon. Be honest!!!
