Default My Boyfriend Wants to Marry Somebody to Get Her a Green Card

My boyfriend is marrying an old college friend of his for a large sum of money so she can remain in the U.S. They live in separate states, and are going to continue to do that after the marriage, for at least until the 2 years it takes to get her green card. He wants him and I to continue seeing each other. My question is, will they find out about me? And if so, what happens? I kind of hope they do find out, as i do not want him to do this and have been trying to talk him out of it.

    Great. Immigration fraud.

Your relationship with him isn't important at all - really. But if they think they're going to get away with not living together before she gets residency, they may be in for a nasty shock when they are finally interviewed together.

that is a big NO NO and they (USCIS) WILL find out sooner or later that its a fake marriage and above all YOU can get in trouble for knowing about it and not reporting it especially if you live with your boyfriend. (its gonna be hard to prove that you did not benefited from the money he received for that deal).
if he goes through with it - don't think twice - RUN !!!

gee, like they are going to miss this glaring fact. Will you be living with him?

    this just isn't real smart.

your bf is really willing to perjure himself for this money?

I do not know the length of incarceration but prison is a possibility. Simply ask him is whatever he is getting is worth setting in prison with a felony conviction that will haunt him for the rest of his life.

If they get away with it, he has the money. If he gets caught, he has a boyfriend named Bubba. Is it worth the risk?

Because they don't think that the USCIS is going to want confirmation that they are living together legitimately as man and wife? They ask for things like leases and utility bills and bank statements and all manner of other proof that they're living together as man and wife.

They even ask if the marriage has been consummated.

He wants him and I to continue seeing each other.
You told him to go to hell, right? You can't possibly think he actually cares about you, to expect you to go along with this fraud?
My question is, will they find out about me? And if so, what happens?
USCIS doesn't care if he's got "one on the side" - having a girlfriend doesn't torpedo his "wife's" marriage based green card. Not living legitimately as man and wife does.

So, WHEN USCIS finds out (and they WILL), she will be deported and likely banned, and he will be prosecuted for immigration fraud, which carries huge fines and prison time - $250K and 5 years.
I kind of hope they do find out, as i do not want him to do this and have been trying to talk him out of it.
Speed it along. Turn them in and DTMFA. You can do better.

No I won't be living with him. He claims this happens in their profession all of the time (Academic), and they aren't going to try to hide the fact that they didn't live together. They think that since they have their jobs at these colleges in different states that whoever reviews their file will understand that they wanted to continue their career paths in these different states and convince them that they will eventually live together. I do know that they have taken out a loan together, and are going to file tax returns together, putting eachother on eachother's accounts to try to show they have filed paperwork together, yadda yadda. How can I speed it along. Won't they know I was the one that reported it?
