Default I Got Emancipated in Iowa

I will be 17 in March, and I am being emancipated. I live in Iowa. This was just decided a couple days ago when I decided I have had enough of my dad. First, I went to the sheriff's office, then he contacted DHS. As of now, I am sitting at school, and DHS is coming here to get me and put me in my uncle's house either today or by ten a.m. tomorrow. It's a big step to take, but to me it sounds like it'd be worth it for your boyfriend. Good luck!

That's NOT emancipation. That is a change in guardianship - your uncle is simply another adult replacing your father, and has all the legal authority over you and responsibility for you that your father did. Emancipation means that YOU are declared a legal adult, which you have't been.

No, you did not get emancipated in Iowa or any other state. You clearly have no idea what is meant by the emancipation of a minor. Please do not respond unless you have some idea what you are talking about.
