Default Accidently Shot My Brother with an Airsoft Gun

ok i'm gonna get right to the point here... i live in the state of Michigan. i am 17 and my brother is 13. we were screwing around/horse playing and i accidently shot him with an airsoft gun, (from about 5 feet away) which shoots plastic bb's. thankfully the shot missed his eye, but hit his eyelid above it. there was a little blood and the eye was just swelled and bruised. he said he could open the eye almost all the way. i'm literally freaking out not only for my brothers health, as my parents are taking him to an er as we speak, but also if i could face any possible legal trouble. the shot was on accident and i was unaware that the gun was loaded, as i shot it the other day at a target until it was empty. it was just us playing around, (way out of line, of course) and it was in no way "aggravated" or an "attack".

Hate to break it to ya, but there's no such thing as a gun accident. A certain set of circumstances have to come together in the right way to cause any sort of gun to "accidentally" discharge.

Horseplay with any sort of device that is capable of firing a projectile is irresponsible at best and reckless/negligent at worst.

Depending upon your local and/or state law, you could be criminally charged regardless of whether the victim, your brother, wishes there to be such an outcome.

Thankfully this appears to be an instance where there will be no long-lasting effect.

Your brother looks like he may turn out to be lucky that it'll turn out that way.

Hopefully you learned a valuable lesson!!!!!!!

We can't tell you what the future holds.

Well, except Mom and Dad are going to destroy your pop gun.

    You are probably okay.
